I haven't been on in a long time. Since the last time I visited, I ran out of money for tuition, got married to a wonderful woman, and went back to school, this time for Electrical Engineering. Two semesters in, and I feel foolish for not choosing something challenging sooner. This is a blast! I'm running a series of arduino tutorials now, and working towards an autonomous turret and a CNC machine. Just for kicks, one of my friends was helping me with the problems from the back of Mathematica Monthly. There is no real reason for me to explore this deeply into math, but it really is a compulsion at this point. Something about it clicks, like

Life and Death.

As of this last May, the 17th soldier known to me died in Afghanistan. I now know only 2 living soldiers, and 2 vets from my generation. The Gods protect them all. Fare thee well, Corporal Jacob C. After finals and all has been completed, I promised myself I would begin doing what I wanted day by day. Well, here I be, no job after 16 applications, no alternative plans for the days ahead, and I begin to do what I promised. Scavenging metal for summer smithing projects, foraging for wild edible plants, and fishing in the river begin to compose the contents of my day. Not much. Just going to vet school in the Caribbean. It's an adventure I guess... well ... not really, because I'm always studying. But things are going alright :)
